Salt and freshly milled pepper
Butter or roasted nut oils
Instructions
Toast the flakes in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently, until they smell good.
Bring 2 cups water to a boil in a saucepan. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, then the flakes. Cover the pot, lower the heat, and cook for 5 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let stand for 5 minutes more.
Fluff with a fork, add butter to taste, and season with pepper.
