Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef optional
  • 2 medium stalks celery sliced
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper chopped
  • 1 medium head cabbage coarsely shredded
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 cup skim milk
  • 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions 

  • In a large pot, cook and stir the ground beef, celery, onion and green pepper until the vegetables are tender. Drain grease from pan.
  • Stir in cabbage and water; cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in milk, cheese, flour, salt, nutmeg and pepper. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute, then serve.
