11ozfrozen mashed potatoes1/2 of a 22-ounce package
1-1/3cupsmilk
1lblean ground beef
1tspbottled minced garlic
1tspdried thyme leaves
1/2tspsalt
1/2tspfreshly ground black pepper
1 12-ouncejar beef gravy with mushrooms
1cupfrozen peas
1/2cupshredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat broiler. Prepare potatoes with milk for 4 servings in a microwave oven according to package directions. Meanwhile, cook beef, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper in a 10-inch ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat until meat is no longer pink, stirring occasionally. Pour off drippings. Add gravy and peas and cook until peas are defrosted and mixture is very hot, about 3 minutes.
Spoon prepared mashed potatoes over meat mixture, spreading evenly and leaving a 1-inch border around edges. Sprinkle cheese evenly over potatoes. Place the skillet under the broiler and broil 4 to 5 inches from heat source for 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture is bubbly.
