Ingredients
  

  • 11 oz frozen mashed potatoes 1/2 of a 22-ounce package
  • 1-1/3 cups milk
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tsp bottled minced garlic
  • 1 tsp dried thyme leaves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 12- ounce jar beef gravy with mushrooms
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions 

  • Preheat broiler. Prepare potatoes with milk for 4 servings in a microwave oven according to package directions. Meanwhile, cook beef, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper in a 10-inch ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat until meat is no longer pink, stirring occasionally. Pour off drippings. Add gravy and peas and cook until peas are defrosted and mixture is very hot, about 3 minutes.
  • Spoon prepared mashed potatoes over meat mixture, spreading evenly and leaving a 1-inch border around edges. Sprinkle cheese evenly over potatoes. Place the skillet under the broiler and broil 4 to 5 inches from heat source for 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture is bubbly.
