Victorian Vinegar Cookies

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- 1/4 cup softened margarine
- 6 tbsp granulated sugar
- ½ tablespoon white vinegar
- 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300° F. In a medium-sized bowl, cream the butter and margarine until light. Add the sugar and vinegar and beat until fluffy. Sift in the flour and baking soda and stir until evenly blended. (Do not overwork the dough.) Stir in the walnuts and mix together well.
- Drop by teaspoonsful onto an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until lightly golden. Let cool on parchment paper. Makes 3 dozen.
