Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef optional
- 2 medium stalks celery sliced
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 medium green pepper chopped
- 1 medium head cabbage coarsely shredded
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 cup skim milk
- 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook and stir the ground beef, celery, onion and green pepper until the vegetables are tender. Drain grease from pan.
- Stir in cabbage and water; cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in milk, cheese, flour, salt, nutmeg and pepper. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute, then serve.
