Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup light cream or evaporated milk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract or rum
  • 1/2 cup chopped nutmeats

Instructions 

  • Combine, stir and heat in a double boiler until smooth the butter, brown sugar, and salt.
  • Cool this slightly. Beat in, to a good spreading consistency: 2 cups, more or less, of powdered sugar.
  • You may add vanilla or rum and nuts.
