Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 1/8 tsp thyme or basil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice or 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar or grated Parmesan cheese optional
Instructions
- In 1-quart saucepan over medium heat, melt butter or margarine.
- Add fresh bread crumbs; cook, tossing lightly, until crumbs are golden. Stir in thyme or basil until well mixed.
- If you like, add lemon juice or Cheddar cheese.
- Sprinkle Buttered Crumbs over drained, hot cooked vegetables.
- POLONAISE SAUCE: Prepare Buttered Crumbs with lemon juice as above. Stir in 1 hard-cooked egg, chopped, 1 tbsp chopped parsley and 1/4 teaspoon salt until thoroughly mixed together.
